Press ReleasesThese are the press releases we've issued this year. You may want to search for topics by keyword.
Last three years we made major changes in running our home meets. We use computerized meet entries, seeding, results, and scores. We also post the results and other meet information on the Internet. During BHS Track and Field Invitational we recognize the top three individuals and relay teams by having an award ceremonies after the conclusion of each event. We are the only school in the state that is currently using this format and it is very popular among athletes and coaches. The BHS TRACK & FIELD INVITATIONAL are the two biggest and the best-run track and field meets in the state of Vermont, with participation of 18 regional high schools. We have a waiting list of the schools they would like to come but hand timing and number of the lanes on our track sets the limit. We also help organize and run MIDDLE SCHOOL INVITATIONAL with participation over 500 athletes. Last year we helped organize summer Parks & Rec. Track & Field Vermont State Championship. During our Cross-Country running season outside of our regular scheduled meets we organize BHS CROSS - COUNTRY INVITATIONAL. The number of participating schools have increased from 15 (1997) to 37(1998) 38 (1999) with participation over 700 middle and high school runners. At the beginning of the last cross-country season we organized a fun raising FUN RUN for people of all ages. Over 100 runners came to this race. This past 2 seasons we were hired by Colchester HS to run 1998 NVAC X-C Running District Championship. To increase a quality of Track & Field and X-C Running Meets in the state of Vermont we are organizing Computer software clinic for coaches. We would like to continue to make improvements (ELECTRONIC TIMING is our next goal), but our financial resources are very, very limited. Please make a contribution. We will guarantee that 100% of your money will go directly to these improvements. Thank you very much for your consideration. See you on the track. Pavel Dvorak and Ian Carroll, BHS Track & Field Head Coaches
