HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETE T&F BHS INVITATIONAL MEET INFORMATION

NO SEMIFINALS in 100 m, 200 m and 100/110 hurdles. Top six times from all trial heats in each event will qualify six finalists

Weigh-ins will be required for shot put, discus and javelin between 2:00 PM and 2:30 PM before the race.  Only checked and marked equipment will be permitted in competition and in warm-up throws.

The pole vault - prior to warm-up, the referee will inspect each pole to be used in the competition to verify that the poles are legal equipment as per Rule 7 - 4 - 3 of the 1999 National Federation High School Association Track & Field Rule Book.  Coaches please make sure that poles are properly marked according to the rules and you have the VPA pole vault weight certification form.

INDIVIDUAL TROPHY TO THE OUTSTANDING RUNNER.

INDIVIDUAL TROPHY TO THE OUTSTANDING FIELD EVENT PERSON.

MEDALS FOR PARTICIPANTS PLACING FIRST, SECOND AND THIRD WILL BE PRESENTED 15 MINUTES AFTER COMPLETION OF EACH EVENT FINAL.

RIBBONS FOR FOURTH, FIFTH, AND SIXTH PLACE.

TEAM AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE MEET.

CHECK IN

RUNNING EVENTS BEFORE THE EVENT COMPETITORS IN THE  MUST REPORT TO THE CLERK OF THE COURSE AT THE TIME THE FIRST CALL IS GIVEN (15 MINUTES BEFORE EVENT STARTS) FOR THE EVENT IN THE CHECK IN AREA (NEXT TO 100 METER START). All athletes participating in running events must sign in there no later than 2nd call. They will be marched to the start from the check-in area by the clerk.

FIELD EVENTS COMPETITORS MUST REPORT TO THE OFFICIAL AT THE TIME THE FIRST CALL IS GIVEN (15 MINUTES BEFORE EVENT STARTS) AT FIELD EVENT SECTOR. IF ATHLETE IS PARTICIPATING IN TWO OR MORE FIELD EVENTS AT THE SAME TIME SHE MUST GO BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN THESE EVENTS. ATHLETE LEAVING FOR RUNNING EVENT MUST SIGN OUT ON THE SECOND CALL AND HE (SHE) MUST CHECK BACK IN NO LATER THAN 10 MIN AFTER THE CONCLUSION OF THE HEAT OF THE RUNNING EVENT HE (SHE) WAS COMPETING IN.

TEAM SCORE - 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1.

NUMBERS WILL BE ASSIGNED TO ALL COMPETITORS. THESE NUMBERS MUST BE WORN ON THE BACK OF COMPETITOR DURING COMPETITION, EXCEPT THE HIGH JUMP.

HIP NUMBERS MUST BE WORN IN ALL RUNNING EVENTS (FINAL LEG ONLY OF RELAY TEAM) ON THE LEFT HIP, CENTERED, SHIRT MUST BE TUCKED IN

QUALIFYING DISTANCES, TIMES IN THE FOLLOWING EVENTS, OFFICIALS WILL MEASURE ONLY JUMPS OR THROWS EQUAL TO OR BETTER THAN, THE QUALIFYING DISTANCES:

HIGH JUMP 4’0" (Boys 5'2") SHOT PUT 24' (35') LONG JUMP 13' (17')    DISCUS 68' (100')

TRIPLE JUMP 26' (35') JAVELIN 65' (110')    POLE VAULT 7’0" (9'0")

3000m RUN 14:00.0 (12:00.0)

SPIKES THE TRACK IS AN ALL WEATHER SURFACE. ONLY SPIKES, 3/16" OR SHORTER OR SNEAKERS ARE ALLOWED. THE SURFACE FOR THE SHOT AND DISCUS IS CONCRETE, AND THEREFORE NO SPIKES WILL BE ALLOWED FOR THESE AREAS.

NATIONAL FEDERATION RULES THE GOVERNING RULES WILL BE THE NATIONAL FEDERATION RULES UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED.

ATHLETES MUST STAY IN THEIR LANES OR FINISH ORDER RIGHT AFTER THE CONCLUSION OF THE RUNNING EVENT UNTIL THEY ARE DISMISSED BY HEAD TIMER. LEAVING EARLY WILL RESULT IN A DISQUALIFICATION.

FOOD WILL BE ON SALE AT THE SNACK BAR.   

T- SHIRTS WILL ALSO BE SOLD.

ADMISSION CHARGE  $3.00 - ADULTS, $1.00 - STUDENTS. PROGRAMS WILL ALSO BE AVAILABLE FOR $1.00. AN ATHLETES NUMBER IS THEIR TICKET TO GET IN.
