TEAM RULES AND EXPECTATIONS

ATTENDANCE

  1. Attendance at all practices (including selected Saturdays) and meets is mandatory (Please see Practice Schedule page for dates and times).
  2. Practice/Meet participation will be excused only with head coaches permission.
  3. Excused absence- athlete must talk to the head coach in advance (except true emergencies)
  4. Two unexcused absences will result in automatic dismissal from the team.
  5. Unexcused tardy will be treated as an unexcused absence.
  6. Athletes/Parents should make every effort not to schedule appointment during practice/meet time.
  7. Athlete who is injured or not competing is expected to help and attend all practices and meets and must see the athletic trainer on a daily basis.
  8. Practices/Meets will be held in cold, rainy and snowy conditions. Athletes must dress accordingly. Sweats, wind breakers, wind pants will be required.
  9. Athlete with unexcused absence will not be allowed to participate in following meet.

MEETS

  1. It will be coach's final decision to select event(s) for an athlete before a meet.
  2. Athletes are expected to stay entire meet.
  3. Athletes are expected to help with setting and clean up before/after a home meet.
  4. Athletes will not be dropped off from a bus on the way home from a meet.
  5. Athletes are required to obey bus transportation rules.

PRACTICES

  1. Athletes are expected to stay for the entire practice.
  2. Athletes are responsible for lost equipment. It must be stored properly after every meet and practice.
  3. A positive and respectful attitude, following coaches directions and safety instructions is expected of every athlete each day of practice and meet.
  4. Courtesy and respect is to be shown at all times to other athletes, officials and coaches. If not an athlete may be withheld from meet competition and/or dismiss from a team.

AWARDS

Athlete, who finished the season and returned all equipment, uniform and warm ups will receive (except athlete who broke BHS Athletic code):

  1. Certificate
  2. Numerals - 9th grader only (only once during whole 9th grade year)
  3. Letter – 2nd year on the T&F Team or/and qualified and competed at the State Meet (only once during all 4 years)
  4. Pin – with letter only and every year after

MVP and Coaches Trophies, Team Record plaque and other awards will be decided by coaching staff.
