THE FOLLOWING SCHOOLS WILL BE PARTICIPATING IN THE BHS GIRLS INVITATIONAL MEET: BFA-ST.ALBANS, BURLINGTON, COLCHESTER, CVU, ESSEX, FAIR HAVEN, LYNDON INSTITUTE,  MT. ABRAHAM HS, MT. MANSFIELD, MILTON, NO. COUNTRY, RICE, RUTLAND, SO. BURLINGTON, SPAULDING, ST. JOHNSBURY, U - 32 AND WINDSOR.

6. INDIVIDUAL ENTRY LIMITS NO PARTICIPANT MAY BE ENTERED IN MORE THAN FOUR (4) EVENTS INCUDING AN ALTERNATE POSITION.

7. SCHOOL ENTRY LIMITS A SCHOOL MAY HAVE A MAXIMUM OF TWO (2) ENTRIES FOR EACH EVENT PLUS AN ALTERNATE. TIMES, HEIGHTS AND DISTANCES MUST BE LISTED INCLUDING TIMES, HEIGHTS AND DISTANCES FOR ALTERNATES. NO ENTRIES MAY BE MADE OR CHANGED AFTER THE ENTRY LIST IS MAILED (FAXED, E mailed).

SCHOOLS MAY ENTER ONE (1) RELAY TEAM PER RELAY EVENT. COACHES MUST LIST COMPETITORS NAMES ON ENTRY SHEET. YOU MAY SUBMIT 4 TO 6 NAMES PER TEAM. ANY 4 OF 6 SUBMITTED ATHLETES MAY RUN.

8. SCRATCHES / ALTERNATES COACHES HAVING SCRATCHES AND/OR ALTERNATES IN ANY EVENT MUST SUBMIT THEIR SCRATCH / ALTERNATES SHEETS TO THE MEET DIRECTOR NO LATER THAN FRIDAY 2:30 PM BEFORE THE MEET. PLEASE FILL OUT SCRATCH / ALTERNATES SHEETS BEFORE YOU ARRIVE. IT TAKES TIME TO ENTER CHANGES INTO A COMPUTER, RESEED ALL RACES AND PRINT EVENTS FORMS. 9. COACHES MEETING ALL COACHES SHOULD REPORT AT 3:00 FOR A SHORT MEETING.

PLEASE  BE HERE BEFORE 2:30 PM TO WEIGHT YOUR THROWING IMPLEMENTS, POLE VAULT INSPECTION, SUBMIT YOUR SCRATCHES AND ALTERNATES, AND  GIVE YOUR ATHLETES  TIME TO WARM UP.

10. SCHOOL BUSES PLEASE DROP OFF ATHLETES AND PARK YOUR BUS AT LEDDY PARK PARKING LOT. BUSES MAY BE PARKED AT BHS PARKING LOT AFTER 3:30 PM

MEET INFORMATION

PLEASE READ THIS TO YOUR ATHLETES !

Weigh-ins will be required for shot put, discus and javelin between 2:00 PM and 2:30 PM before the race.  Only checked and marked equipment will be permitted in competition and in warm-up throws.

The pole vault - prior to warm-up, the referee will inspect each pole to be used in the competition to verify that the poles are legal equipment as per Rule 7 - 4 - 3 of the 1999 National Federation High School Association Track & Field Rule Book.  Coaches please make sure that poles are properly marked according to the rules and you have the VPA pole vault weight certification form.

10. AWARDS

TEAM TROPHY TO THE 1st, 2nd AND 3rd PLACE TEAM.

INDIVIDUAL TROPHY TO THE OUTSTANDING RUNNER.

INDIVIDUAL TROPHY TO THE OUTSTANDING FIELD EVENT PERSON.

MEDALS FOR PARTICIPANTS PLACING FIRST, SECOND AND THIRD WILL BE PRESENTED 15 MINUTES AFTER COMPLETION OF EACH EVENT FINAL.

RIBBONS FOR FOURTH, FIFTH, AND SIXTH PLACE.

TEAM AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE MEET.

9. CHECK IN BEFORE THE EVENT. THE COMPETITORS IN THE RUNNING EVENTS MUST REPORT TO THE CLERK OF THE COURSE AT THE TIME THE FIRST CALL IS GIVEN (15 MINUTES BEFORE EVENT STARTS) FOR THE EVENT IN THE CHECK IN AREA (NEXT TO 100 METER START). All athletes participating in running events must sign in there no later than 2nd call. They will be marched to the start from the check-in area by the clerk.

COMPETITORS IN THE FIELD EVENTS SHOULD REPORT TO THE OFFICIAL AT THE TIME THE FIRST CALL IS GIVEN (15 MINUTES BEFORE EVENT STARTS) AT FIELD EVENT SECTOR. IF ATHLETE IS PARTICIPATING IN TWO OR MORE FIELD EVENTS AT THE SAME TIME SHE MUST GO BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN THESE EVENTS. ATHLETE LEAVING FOR RUNNING EVENT MUST SIGN OUT ON THE SECOND CALL AND HE (SHE) MUST CHECK BACK IN NO LATER THAN 10 MIN AFTER THE CONCLUSION OF THE HEAT OF THE RUNNING EVENT HE (SHE) WAS COMPETING IN.

10. TEAM SCORE - 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1.

11. NUMBERS WILL BE ASSIGNED TO ALL COMPETITORS. THESE NUMBERS MUST BE WORN ON THE BACK OF COMPETITOR DURING COMPETITION, EXCEPT THE HIGH JUMP.

12. QUALIFYING DISTANCES IN THE FOLLOWING EVENTS, OFFICIALS WILL MEASURE ONLY JUMPS OR THROWS EQUAL TO OR BETTER THAN, THE QUALIFYING DISTANCES:

HIGH JUMP 4’0" (Boys 5'2") SHOT PUT 24' (35') LONG JUMP 13' (17')    DISCUS 68' (100')

TRIPLE JUMP 26' (35') JAVELIN 65' (110')    POLE VAULT 7’0" (9'0")

13. SPIKES THE TRACK IS AN ALL WEATHER SURFACE. ONLY SPIKES, 3/16" OR SHORTER OR SNEAKERS ARE ALLOWED. THE SURFACE FOR THE SHOT AND DISCUS IS CONCRETE, AND THEREFORE NO SPIKES WILL BE ALLOWED FOR THESE AREAS.

14. NATIONAL FEDERATION RULES THE GOVERNING RULES WILL BE THE NATIONAL FEDERATION RULES UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED.

15. ATHLETES WILL WEAR A HIP NUMBER (LEFT SIDE) AND MUST STAY IN THEIR LANES OR FINNISH ORDER RIGHT AFTER THE CONCLUSION OF THE RUNNING EVENT UNTIL THEY ARE DISMISSED BY HEAD TIMER. LEAVING EARLY WILL RESULT IN A DISQUALIFICATION.

16. F00D WILL BE ON SALE AT THE SNACK BAR.    T- SHIRTS WILL ALSO BE SOLD.

17. ADMISSION CHARGE PLEASE NOTIFY PARENTS AND SPECTATORS, THERE WILL BE AN ADMISSION CHARGE, $3.00 - ADULTS, $1.00 - STUDENTS. PROGRAMS WILL ALSO BE AVAILABLE FOR $1.00. AN ATHLETES NUMBER IS THEIR TICKET TO GET IN.
